4th STREET BISTRO IN BLANCO

Great atmosphere and you can carry on a conversation

I reeeeeely hesitate to tell you about this place because you’ll just go try it yourself, then tell more people and this little gem will just get busier and busier, but, I’m having a weak moment and can’t contain my excitement.  4th Street Bistro in Blanco is a major find.  We went on Thursday night, which is touted as “comfort food night”, and I must say the chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes brought me muy comfort.  Dennis said he was very comfortable with his pork chop, too.  And, then, there was the homemade ice-cream sandwich – made with perfectly cooked sugar cookies.  The bistro is located just off the Blanco square, you know the court house where the remake of True Grit was filmed.  For those of you who are familiar with Blanco, 4th Street is across from “the bowling club“.  The ambiance is cozy with fresh flowers on the tables and nice art on the walls.  The owners, Cindy and Dave, are just delightful with very interesting backgrounds.  If you walk back in the private dining room (like being in someone’s warm, inviting home) you’ll see pictures of Cindy with some pretty darn famous people  Hint-one is a prez……….Have I convinced you to try 4th Street Bistro?  When you do, and you really must, tell them D.J., with the blog, said hello.  As for me, I can’t wait to go back………I think, next time, we’ll try the Sunday brunch.               FYI……….the weekend menu is more upscale and reservations are recommended.  Click on the highlighted 4th Street for more info on their web page.
