EVERYONE WAS TWISTIN’………..

Jennifer and assistant prepare for the class.

My friend, Linda, asked if I would like to take a class on how to make several things from a basic pretzel dough.  I thought it was a great idea—a nice chance to take a break from nursing Dennis who has one more week on crutches.  He’s been on crutches for 4 weeks—the longest 6 months of my life!  So, I told Linda I would meet her at Make It Sweet at the corner of Hwy 183 and Burnet road.  My navigator said I could go two ways—one via Hwy 71, the other via Hwy 1431-the scenic, twisty country road that goes up, down and all around along the north side of Lake Travis.  I chose the scenic one.  I had lots of time since I thought the class started and hour earlier.  Good thing.  I, and nineteen other cars got behind a school bus which meant going forty-five miles an hour—-all the way to Cedar Park.  No worries.  I got to Make It Sweet right on time.  Linda got there, shortly, after driving in from Dallas.  She had been to the opening of the State Fair of Texas where her niece, Maren Morris, had performed.  (Some people have uber cool relatives.).  But, I digress, we found our assigned seats and waited for Jennifer, the owner, to begin.  Two hot dog buns, four monkey breads, four pretzels, and four parmesan garlic rolls, later, we were headed out the door, saying goodbye to Carol and Gayle, our table mates for the afternoon…….You’ll have to try one of their classes.  It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon—with a friend, a daughter or son or an afternoon just by yourself…………….It puts a nice, little twist on your day.
